BATH – Before heading to the Abbey, we stopped at Sally Lunn’s for a famous bun! The recipe is still a tightly kept secret and cooked up in one of the oldest houses in Bath (c. 1482).

Then on to the Roman Baths, where the kids were highly consumed with their audio tours. T1 refused to use the kid-version and would occasionally spout out a random fact he found interesting! I visited Bath in college and while I realize that memory has an uncanny ability to erode itself, I felt like the Bath we witnessed today was nothing like the Bath of several decades ago. Or maybe I’m just getting old and have no tolerance for crowds anymore. Who knows.

While in Bath, it was a priority of mine to visit Mr. B’s Emporium, a bookstore I had read wonderful things about. I was too busy choosing selections to capture photos of the store, but it’s an amazing shop and I highly recommend making a stop, if you find yourself in Bath.

BRISTOL – Guess what we found in Bristol?…some ruins! Temple Church is hidden in the middle of a very urban block of Bristol and was an interesting contrast to the scaffolding and construction works all around it. I think the kids faces say how they feel about yet another set of ruins.
