stories of five non-Brits on the Great Isle

A SHATTERED SKI TRIP

All winter, I had been looking forward to hitting the slopes with the kids. I was going to get T2 started while T1 continued his lessons. And then I took a misstep. Loaded down with a car seat and too many bags (because why in the world would I make more than one trip to the car?!), I stepped off the front stoop and broke my foot. Just like that.

Skiing was out of the question for me, but we decided to go to Scotland anyways. Of course, I would have given anything to be skiing on a healthy foot, but the snow was total shite, sooo…..I didn’t feel nearly as awful.

But T1 did wonderful with two days of lessons and it gave us an opportunity to do some other adventuring around Scotland without feeling like we were missing out on some (not) great powder.

We took a steam train through the Cairngorms, and the kids got to climb aboard the engine! And what better way to spend a rainy day in Scotland than playing Uno on a train with your besties!

NOT THE SKI VACATION WE ENVISIONED, BUT STILL BEAUTIFUL

We even got to do some coo-spotting! I love me a good Highland Coo!
