OFF TO THE (HORSE) RACES

While Grandma and Grandpa were in town, they were great sports about saying ‘yes’ to everything we threw at them! One opportunity they agreed to was horse racing at Fakenham Racecourse. T2 was SO excited about this! She told everyone — her teacher, her gymnastics coach, her swim teacher, the gate guards — “I’m going to the horse races with my grandma!” Although I don’t think she had any idea what exactly that meant, it was very sweet. Honestly, I think she was just in it for the “headband”. Girl don’t need an excuse to dress up!!

SHE WORE HER FIRST FASCINATOR WITH APLOMB!

Aaaaannnddd…the horses:

This was a steeplechase track, which gave me some concern. For those new to the equine racing world, steeplechase races are fraught with accidents, many of which are terminal for the horse. Last thing I wanted was for anyone to witness a “situation”. Thankfully, everyone went home on all four legs. All’s well that ends well!
