Weeeeellll…the kids are still in school and the temps are still in the 60’s….so let the summer WEEKENDS begin?
We love watching movies outside on weekends. I took a trip down memory lane to find these pics, and then spent a few drinks crying when I realized the last movie we watched at our backyard “theater” was with sweet Liv.

However, we missed an entire season of viewing because we were separated as a family, our household goods were somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, and then when we got everything/everyone back together again, we just couldn’t figure out how to manage a newborn, an extremely late-setting sun, and pleasant temperatures. They all had to cooperate together….and they just didn’t.
So when I discovered Adventure Cinema, I jumped at the chance to enjoy a movie al fresco!
But first…a beach day in Bournemouth! Yes, we were wearing long pants and no, we didn’t even touch the water, but the beach in summer is the beach in summer. Right? Fake it ‘till you make it, I suppose.

And ice cream on the beach is a defining act of “summer”.

The next day, we settled into our cinema chairs and watched The Gruffalo and Stick Man with lots of snacks and the beautiful Somerley Estate in the background. See…even the name wanted us to welcome in the summer!
