Joe was asked to perform a ceremony in Paris, so we decided to bring the entire fam and make an adventure of it! It was so wonderful to see our old friends, chat about the twists and turns life had brought upon all of us over the past decade, and wonder where in the world we’d see each other next.

All three of the kids were absolute troopers. We walked their legs off, we skipped naps, we ate lots and lots of bread! I don’t think any of them grasped where they were or what they were seeing, but at least we’ll always have the pictures! When they are teenagers and complaining that we’ve never done anything for them, we can prove that we loved them enough to take them to Paris.

We’ll tell stories of the morning that one of them sat INSIDE the Eiffel Tower without his pants on. We’ll see a pain au chocolat and be flooded with memories of a precious lady, living her best life, enjoying the sweet treats of a Parisian. We’ll remember how an observant, literate, old soul had so many questions about pickpockets and smoking cigarettes.

And maybe, just maybe, we’ll return in 12 years’ time and hopefully everyone will wear pants inside Paris’ greatest icon. TBD.
