Unfortunately, it was time to say goodbye to the NI coast and head south to the Republic of Ireland. We based ourselves in Galway and spent the first full day at Wildlands adventure park, which left us all feeling so exhausted, but so happy!
There were so many choices here, and I wanted the kids to be able to do it all! The challenging part was that each activity had very specific requirements for age, height, weight, parental supervision, etc. I spent hours, I mean hours, scouring the website and creating a very specific plan for who could do what, when, and with which parent. And it worked out perfectly!
I will say this: the staff at Wildlands were incredible! Every single one of them were so helpful, and so friendly, and they let T2 join in on a lot of things that she technically wasn’t grown enough for. And if our time slot had ended, but no one else was waiting to join, they let us keep playing! Luckily, the place was almost empty so we had a lot of freedom! If anyone finds themselves anywhere near Galway, with children, I highly recommend Wildlands! Worth every penny!
T1 and I started the day with a ropes course, while the littles had some quality imagination time! T2 can play make-believe kitchen fooooorever!

T1 took to the ropes like flies on poop! (Did I just say that? Is Kenny writing this? Naaaah, he would have used the expletive!) I kept saying: ‘Wait for me! Wait, I want a picture. Waaaaaait!’ I gave up. He took off and left me in the dust!

He even enjoyed the crash-landing at the end of the zipline over, and over, and over again!

Next up was a huge trampoline complex — complete with balls, rope ladders, and plenty of chutes to jump down!

After that we headed to the all-terrain park for some ATV driving! I saw a decade into the future during the 90 minutes I watched my three children careen around in miniature Land Rovers. It was terrifying, and sweet, and hilarious, and frustrating, and heart-warming. All at the same time.

So grateful for the emergency stop button! Can I get one of those for life?

T1: “Mom, please walk on the bridge this time. I know how to do this.” Me: “But your brother is in the car and I don’t want you stuck in the mud.” T1: “But that’s the fun part.”

Next up was archery for T1, while T2 and I went on a fairy-finding trail and scavenger hunt. I thought this was right up her alley, but about halfway through she requested to find T1. It paid off because she was kindly allowed to have a go at the targets!

Last stop was wall-climbing for T1. He did great, but he was wiped. We all were!

An adventure day for the books! Thanks Wildlands!
